Internal Restructuring to Support 2026–2030 Growth

The Operations Team is led in Kenya and is responsible for end-to-end program delivery. This includes planning and execution of medical camps, clinical operations, logistics, equipment management, local partnerships, and day-to-day oversight of the Eye, Dental, and HPV programs.

Central to this restructuring is the clear separation of Health Yetu into two complementary entities:

Operations Team (Kenyan-led)

The Operations Team is led in Kenya and is responsible for end-to-end program delivery. This includes planning and execution of medical camps, clinical operations, logistics, equipment management, local partnerships, and day-to-day oversight of the Eye, Dental, and HPV programs. Each program area is now overseen by a dedicated Kenyan team lead, strengthening local ownership, continuity, and on-the-ground decision-making as camp volume and geographic coverage increase.

Commercial Team (internationally led)

The Commercial Team is led internationally and focuses on fundraising, partnerships, communications, and long-term financial sustainability. This team supports the Operations Team by securing resources required for expansion, coordinating international stakeholders, and building multi-year funding relationships. As part of this structure, Health Yetu is preparing to introduce its first paid roles—across full-time, part-time, and freelance positions—prioritizing international fundraising capacity and Kenyan operational support.

To underpin this transition, Health Yetu will appoint 10–20 Founding Partners in 2026. These Founding Partners will provide dedicated, multi-year financial support specifically earmarked for staffing costs, enabling the organization to professionalize key functions while preserving medical services as free of charge for patients.

In parallel, Health Yetu is establishing an international volunteer Quality Control team composed of experienced medical doctors. This team will provide independent clinical oversight across programs, supporting protocol adherence, continuous improvement, outcome monitoring, and knowledge transfer. The Quality Control team is designed to ensure that, as Health Yetu scales, the level of medical care consistently meets the highest international standards.

Together, these structural changes create a durable operating model—combining strong Kenyan-led delivery, internationally led commercial support, sustainable staffing, and rigorous medical quality assurance—positioning Health Yetu to scale responsibly and deliver long-term impact in Northern Kenya through 2030.
